Non NHS Services

Private Work Fees

The NHS provides free health care for most people.

It is important to understand that GPs are self employed and not all of the services we provide are covered by the NHS payments to the practice.

Please expect a fee for non NHS services. The staff or your doctor should inform of any charges before carrying out non NHS work.

Private consultations:

When patients are seen in private clinics, the surgery is not obligated to agree with or complete any requests made by the private clinic. Investigations, prescriptions and onwards referrals are reviewed on their individual merit.  The surgery does not accept any shared care agreements with private providers.

Private referrals:

If you wish to seek private medical care, we can provide a transfer of care, also known as a brief summary, free of charge.  If a formal referral letter on headed paper is required, there is an associated charge.
